Cooking is an art. From pre-history until now, there are many books, drafts and objects that illustrate the evolution of the taste and the art of satisfying our palate. When he opened the door for the first time, André Vrinat hardly knew how successful his restaurant would be.  In 1946, the world was in a terrible war, but Paris was already the shelter of luxury and a city where you were able to breathe in the inspiration.

Inspired in the 14th century, the restaurant “Taillevent” was named after Guillaume Tirel, the cook of the French Court and also the first man who signed a French cuisine book. Following the tradition of doing everything by hand, the food is also prepared with careful attention to detail and continual inspiration. Between two different rooms, La Salle Lamennais or La Salle Trianon, the clients were able to choose between two menus: the “daily one” or “the flavors discovery” menu. The cuisine was known for its hospitality, art, and perfection at table. A plate is more than a simple meal; it is created and served to you through the efforts of a team of fifteen cooks, five bakers and seventeen stewards.
