Spring Summer 2013: collections inspired by India
This is a trend that I believe could for sure become the next classic in the world of fashion. Worldwide runways have recently been filling up with accessories, cuts and shapes, colours and patterns, looks and style inspired by the exquisite and eccentric country of India. Despite the fact that the characteristic Indian embroideries and embellishments have always been a part of the collections of top fashion brands, this year they take it even further, beyond what was expected. India is such a rich country, with endless interests to explore from spirituality to gastronomy and history, that I’m not at all surprised with the excellent and innovative reinterpretations of this richness by the talented designers of the high-end fashion houses such as Manish Arora, Matthew Williamson, Rachel Roy, Vera Wang, Marchesa and Falguni & Shane Peacock.
