Hello gorgeous! Today I feel like talking about shoes! We love shoes more than anything within all the fashion items right? So it’s about time we give them again the importance they deserve in Love Happens blog. And to speak of this subject nothing better that the event that was recently held from February 8th to 13th of April at the museum Fashion Institute of Technology in New York: SHOE OBSESSION. And believe me when I say there was much more here than displaying women’s obsessions and desires…
This exhibition analyzed the impact of technologies on the nature of fashion and its design and also explored the increasing fascination of our culture on extravagant and trendy shoes. In fact shoes ceased to be just a fashion accessory and came to life by being a crucial part of clothing for the entire set becoming unique. Over the years the heels experienced quite radical changes as unthinkable heights and extravagant prices.
Today shoes can be worth millions of dollars and are desired by thousands of people around the world. Names like Manolo Blahnik, Charlotte Olympia and Christian Louboutin continue to be a huge success and therefore top sellers, while several rising talents try to excel themselves in this hallucinating industry. Shoe Obsession features approximately 150 examples of contemporary footwear, highlighting the extreme, lavish, and imaginative styles that have made shoes central to fashion. Within the exhibition, there was one specific pair of shoes that caught my attention…
Designed by Azzedine Alaia these shoes talk for themselves! With an elegant design, soft fabric, intense color and wonderful feathers. My goodness… KOKET was delighted!
