NY Design Week 2013 Guide – part 1
For the ones who can easily get lost with all the offers an event such as New York Design Week can offer, we have gone through the entire program and the overwhelming roster of events to select a few of the best which we believe you should attend if you happen to be in the city this month. From the few hundred events listed on NYCxDESIGN website, we have compiled the top six not to be missed events of the year. From fashion, to photography, art, design, and architecture, and whether you are a design professional or just a design lover, these events should give provide you a gist of what’s happening these days at New York Design Week. IFDA Take A Seat Auction

Join celebrated interior designer, Jamie Drake as Master of Ceremonies and Karl Green, auctioneer and director of Furniture & Decorative Arts, Bonhams NY, as they auction off one-of-a-kind up-cycled chairs created by designers and artisans. Enjoy fabulous live music, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and mingling amongst design and furniture industry luminaries! Proceeds to benefit relief efforts for Japan Tsunami and Hurricane Sandy victims as well as for local IFDA chapter professional development. All are welcome!
Parsons Five Sixty 7th Exhibition

The School of Fashion at Parsons presents an exhibition of thesis work from the range of fashion disciplines, including menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, accessories, and multimedia installations. Also on view are projects sponsored by companies including PPR, Louis Vuitton, Nomi, Swarovski, Saga Furs, Solstiss, and The Shoe Polytechnic.
