In honor to the 15 year relationship with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the MET is giving Anna Wintour the gift of a lifetime, one that changes your purpose in the world until the end of times: the re-naming of the entire Costume institute exhibitions space after her. The new and revamped space “The Anna Wintour Costume Design Center” is being renovated and getting a redesign to be unveiled at its opening schedule for May 8, with the debut of “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” exhibition.

This revelation comes as no surprise for the ones that are close to this Institute and to the most powerful woman in fashion. Ms. Wintour has been a Met trustee for 15, in addition to being credited with re-launching the Costume Institute’s fundraisers by turning its annual gala into one of the most important events for the top fashion designers, Hollywood elite and celebrities from around the world.
“Anna Wintour’s extraordinary advocacy and fundraising have made this state-of-the-art space a reality,” said Daniel Brodsky, the Museum’s Chairman. “She has the rare ability to rally diverse groups across a wide range of industries to support The Costume Institute so it can educate and inspire visitors from around the world.” She definitely inspires us, so we are extremely proud of her achievements. Congratulations Anna!
