Famed French interior designer, Jean-Louis Deniot’s debuts his furniture collection with George Smith.

Ever swoon over a Jean-Louis Denoit designed space? You are not alone. This 2014 Top 100 Architectural Digest designer is making headlines worldwide for the glamorous layering style he applies to his design and his technique of low-key luxe. His designs are opulent yet livable and it is reflected in his debut upholstery furniture line with British upholsterer George Smith. “I wanted to design pieces that were so beautiful that they could stand alone in a room,” Denoit says.

His collection includes a variety of modern and elegant designs featuring three accent chairs, one dining chair and three sofas. The pieces are detailed and skillfully finished featuring contrast piping and intricate tailoring and finishes.

Showing off his creativity and innovation, one sofa in particular, the Virginie, gives the appearance of a three seat sofa, but can be easily taken apart to create three single accent chairs.

The barrel shaped, open backed Aurelie armchair has a similar modern design to BRABBU’s popular Eanda armchair.

The Susannah is a theatrical take on a dining chair with a slim spoon back.

All of the pieces in Denoit’s collection are finished in the fine upholstery fabrics of George Smith. Denoit was drawn to the British upholsterer because of the quality and detailed craftsmanship that has been prevalent since the early 19th century. Denoit’s pieces can currently be seen in George Smith showrooms.
