Texas Home Décor inspired by Coco Chanel
Coco Chanel and the eponymous design house that made her famous are adored the world over, particularly in Texas where one homeowner took her love of the brand further than most.
No, that isn’t Chanel’s Parisian flagship, it’s a two-story closet made to look like the luxury boutique. The closet, and the home it resides in, are on the market for $17.5 million, according to the Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty listing.
And with a dressing room that impressive, you better believe the rest of the house is just as opulent.
The 40,000-square-foot mansion, which resembles a classic French chateau and sits on 39 acres of land, is decorated in pastel tones that immediately call to mind the aesthetic of Sophia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette.” The four-story home also comes equipped with a two-story library, indoor lap pool, home theater, a full ballroom and catering kitchen, and a veranda that sits 450 people.
If that’s not enough to attract a well-heeled buyer, there’s also a tearoom modeled after New York City’s iconic restaurant Tavern On The Green, a wine room, bowling alley, tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, private lake, and of course, a room specifically for wrapping gifts.
