The Best Travel Images of 2016
The Siena International Photo Awards holds an annual photography contest full of stunning images submitted from over 100 countries. Professional and amateur photographers alike compete for awards in categories like people, wine and travel. Travel and culture are a big inspiration for KOKET and the Love Happens Blog, so we singled out the best travel images from the 2016 SIPAContest.

First place in travel images was awarded to Leyla Emektar, who captured this intriguing image of a Turkish peasant walking amidst the colored greenhouses near Nazilli.
Receiving third place in travel images, this photo depicts a floating market, markets where goods are sold by boat, in South Borneo taken by Antonius Andre Tjiu.
This honorable mention travel photo taken by Hoang Long Ly shows Vietnamese women partaking in their daily work of mending fish nets in their small fishing village near Bac Lieu.
Portraying a striking similarity to the photo above, this first place in open color image by Danny Yen Sin Wong shows a Vietnamese woman creating a fishing net in their traditional manner.
This intriguing image by Isa Ebrahim depicts the Bhenwa family of Jodhpur, Rajasthan and their living conditions in this Indian city.
In preparation for acting in his Indian village play, this image by Sanghamitra Sarkar depicts a little boy getting his face painted like Lord Krishna, while a little girl curiously looks on.
There is comfort in this image by Hong Ding of the rolling lush green waves of tea plants dotted with working girls at this tea plantation in Jinlu village.
Winning an honorable mention in nature images, this spectacular picture of Yosemite National Park by Nicki Frates shows the Horsetail Falls during sunset, where during two week of the year, the sun aligns with the water to create a glowing waterfall.
Receiving a remarkable award in travel images, this striking photo by Javier de la Torre portrays the quaint fishing village of Reine, Norway at dusk during the winter.
