A Peek Inside the Fabulous and Inspiring Mind of Laura Marino with the Lh Design Questionnaire
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Being at our home in the US during the summer, with my family and friends having excessive fun and many laughs and knowing everyone is healthy.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Weekend mornings to myself and my love of wallcoverings and textiles.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I can’t say I have just one. My relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Starting my interior design company Studio L, London a few years back when I was already co-running another property development management company, Alchemi Group. Staying true to myself. It’s a constant battle but worth it.
What profession does your alter ego have?
Oh for sure a Rock Star. Or a detective.
The project you will never forget.
Westminster Fire Station, it’s been a long time coming, I think it’s going to be a truly special residential gem in the locale of Victoria.

Your favorite business tool or resource.
Good old fashioned Google. I love researching. We also use Smart Draw, which is pretty handy.
The most timeless design.
I think if you take the time to curate what you love, and only what you love over time – it will always be timeless. Rash purchases rarely are. We’ve taken a lot of time and care to pull together the bespoke show home for Westminster Fire Station to make it look curated over periods.

As far as an actual design that is enduring…….
A ceramic subway tile of hearty quality will never tire. It’s been endured since its invention in 1904, and especially if it’s capped off with a classic black bullnose tile and a black and white mosaic floor pattern or a striking marble. That look is timelessly classic.
Also, an English club chair with a rolled slope arm is a timeless furniture design.
The biggest business faux pas.
Letting your ego get in the way so you cannot take on board valuable feedback from a client.
What 3 words come to mind when you think of the luxury decor brand KOKET.
Fanciful, bold, sensuous.
Love happens when…
I am my best self.
