Inside Maison Arabella
A trained interior designer with a BSc in Investment & Finance in Real Estate, Arabella Bassadone led global projects for design firms such as Candy & Candy and Katharine Pooley before founding Maison Arabella in 2016.
At Maison Arabella, each project begins with getting to know the client, understanding their personality, lifestyle, and design identity. Then, with a keen global perspective and a passion for craftsmanship, Maison Arabella inspires new ways of living.
Whether commercial or private, Maison Arabella’s work blends contemporary and avant-garde, light and color, intimacy and expressiveness. The results always being a beautiful, original, personal space with an air of refined sophistication, thanks to a talented team and solid relationships with a group of master’s of their trades.
Objets
In addition to interiors, Arabella launched her first home decor product series, Objets, in 2019.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
When you are able to understand the person you are. However, from experience, this is a process and I’m still curious to find out for myself.
What is your greatest extravagance?
It would have to be booking my first dream holiday at the Amangiri in Utah- it was unforgettable and still has left such a lasting impact – the combination of nature, design and attention to detail in every aspect made this both perfect & extravagant…..
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Maison Arabella – it’s truly a journey creating a company and you learn so much more than you could ever imagine and it’s also through Maison Arabella that I fulfil a personal sense of achievement which is to be able to inspire and empower the team behind me. I hope that in their experience here they also feel that I contribute to their personal growth and development.
What profession does your alter ego have?
Barrister specialising in humans rights and international law or Spy.
The project you will never forget.
My first project I ever undertook as a designer and also the first Maison Arabella project – both were residential projects and I will never forget them due to the excitement of how very personal and important they were to the path of achieving my dreams and ambitions.
Your favorite business tool or resource.
Microsoft Teams – communication is everything, especially in this time.
The most timeless design.
Chairs – they never date and can always be curated to both its space and its environment but you can’t deny that something like the Eiffel tower never loses its charm!
The biggest design faux pas.
Not perfectly scaling or using proportioned architectural features and furniture, also avoiding natural materials (wood, stone, and natural fibres) in your space.
Your motto.
Beautiful is only beautiful if it works.
Love happens when…
Without sounding cliched love happens when you least expect it.
