The New Era of Couture & High Jewelry

Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend and so are rubies, sapphires, crystals, you get the gist. This season’s Couture Jewelry came with a new inspiration: Art Deco. It is all about opulence and luxury and so are these new high jewelry collections! This truly is The new era of Couture Jewelry.
First, Art Deco – Get Into It!
Art Deco, also known as Deco, is a style that was inspired by visual arts, architecture, and design. Firstly noticed in France just before World War I, it influenced the design of buildings, furniture, jewelry, fashion, and almost everything around us. The perfect blend of modern styles with fine craftsmanship and luxurious materials. It is the representation of all things decadent, precious, and exotic. Its style was inspired by bold geometric forms of Cubism, the vivid colors of Fauvism; the modern craftsmanship of the furniture of the eras of Louis Philippe I and Louis XVI, and the exotic styles of China, Persia, Japan, and ancient Egyptian art. It featured rare and expensive materials, such as ebony and ivory, and, again, it was all about the impeccable craftsmanship.

The new Sous les Etoiles collection takes inspiration from the cosmos and combines 150 high jewelry pieces. “For this new collection, we wanted to prolong the adventure that began with Jules Verne, by exploring the literary and scientific tradition of which his work forms a part. It led us to the Greek philosopher Lucian of Samosata imagining a voyage in space.”
