Meet Christina Jones & Twenty-Eighth Design Studio
A woman on a mission, Christina grew up in a multicultural family in the suburbs of Riverside, California, and was the first in her family to receive a college education. After earning her master’s degree in business marketing, she continued on her previously established corporate career path in marketing. Then in 2015, she decided to open an event and interior design company. However, with interior design her lifelong passion, she chose to fully dedicate the company to interiors a few years in. Twenty-Eighth’s design objective is to help clients feel more confident in their spaces–creating luxurious and functional interiors to suit the client’s lifestyle.
As an up-and-coming designer and African American woman, her hope is to make a major impact in the interior design industry with her keen eye for design and raw talent. With the lack of BIPOC representation in the design world, she also hopes to create more opportunities and visibility for women like her.

The Lh Design Questionnaire with Christina Jones
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Lying in a luxe hotel bed with my hubby and daughter in a foreign country, mimosa in one hand while watching a Friends rerun. Pure bliss.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Building Twenty-Eighth Design Studio from scratch. Coming from a corporate background, my proudest achievement is breaking through the workforce tradition, and building something that can empower and contribute to my family and community.
What profession does your alter ego have?
A singer turned actress/fashion label designer.
The project you will never forget.
A 5,000 sq. ft. home in the hills of Los Angeles.
A micro-influencer and entrepreneur seeking a designer for her new-build put out a call on Instagram for recommendations on interior designers in the LA area. After several of her followers tagged Christina, the two connected and she instantly hired Twenty-Eighth for the job!
Set in what Christina calls the ‘new Calabasas’ for celebrities and influencers, the client wanted a luxe space suitable for relaxation and entertainment. So this is exactly what Twenty-Eighth created for her. Beautifully ‘Instagramable’ while simultaneously comfortable.
Your favorite business tool or resource.
My notebook! I sketch, I plan, and I accomplish the things I write down in it.
The most timeless design.
Vintage statement pieces and neutral tones. Also, the work of Cheryl Eisen.
The biggest design faux pas.
Furniture sets. I really can appreciate the work that goes into finding unique pieces that balance each other out. Choosing a set is easy and impersonal.
Your design motto.
Symmetry and illusion. The biggest part of design is balance and creating optical illusions that change the perspective of the space, which can be achieved through symmetry, color, and scale.
If you were to design a room around one KOKET piece, which would it be, and why?
The Ribbon Dining Table. This is a statement piece and a conversation starter. Also, at my core, I love hosting intimate dinners so I gravitate to starting in the dining room.
Love happens when…
You speak it into existence.
