The Breathtaking Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Show in Venice

DG Alta Moda 2021

Venice was the stage for one of the most beautiful fashion shows of 2021 on August 29th: the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Show. Dolce & Gabbana really came through with beautifully constructed gowns and outstanding masterpieces covered in crystals. Furthermore, ancient Venice was awakened through the divine parade of treasures created by the famous Italian fashion Maison. And of course, the audience was full of star-studded glamour as well!

For us, Venice represents the perfect harmony of opposites that attract: it is romantic and sensual, melancholic and joyful, rational and visionary, luminous and nocturnal, sacred and profane, dark and golden.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana

The Audience, The Location, and The Meaning Behind the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda 2021

The Show had the most glamorous Audience. All the VIPs could not miss the opportunity to show but also be part of it: Doja Cat, Jennifer Lopez, Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Monica Bellucci, and Kitty Spencer are just some of them. Each dressed in perfect pieces from DG, making the fashion show so much more modern and exquisite.

The Location was chosen to be an iconic but also contemporary moment of glory for the Maison. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had in mind the duality of Venice as well as the harmonic complexity of Romanticism and sensualism hand in hand. And so became a true drama of two opposite poles at the Piazzetta San Marco.

In addition to the breathtaking spot of the event, the Meaning behind it all is also very noticeable in every bit of glamour and detail. The collection is a blinged-out alternative reality straight out from a Botticelli painting. It came as a rebirth for the Italian Renaissance roots of DG.

While it was a beauty to the eye, DG Alta Moda was also a Representation of Years of History

The Fashion Show started with a lot of drama as if it was used to set the mood for the rest of the event. Then the storytelling performance came as a surprise, grabbing everyone’s attention with spectacular artists.

Next up, Jennifer Hudson performed Nessum Dorma, from Turandot making it the opening for the collection. When a splendid painting-like gown made an appearance on one of the emblematic gondolas, making every eye bulge at the sight of such piece entering the runway ahead.

And here it was: the DG Alta Moda Fashion Show in all its glory presented to the best well-known guests. As a result of wonderful Italian craftsmanship and edgy takes on Alta Moda, DG’s collection was born.

The point of the collection was to showcase a younger version of couture and, indeed even many of the models were daughters of great celebrities. This is how fashion should also be seen: a heritage of style, glamour, and artistry.

The Show was also posted on DG’s Youtube channel and we highly recommend you watch this beautiful example of Art through Fashion:
