2023 Home Decor & Interior Design Trends from Paris

The second installation in our Parisian apartment sees a troupe of hand embroidered Diana monkeys gambol amidst a canopy of gleaming Palm fronds – leaves of myriad Golden thread on a wool sateen ground of rich Yellow, against which the Black & White colouring of the characterful simians creates a decoratively striking visual contrast. From Paris Déco Off and Paris Déco Home to Maison & Objet and “In the City”, design inundated Paris during January 2023. Now that the festivities are over, we look back, finding many 2023 interior design and home decor trends to love!

In the ‘What’s New’ stand by Elizabeth Leriche at Maison & Objet 2023, trends such as oranges and purples, ombre, 1970s vibes, natural materials, wovens, glass, and neutrals all appear. And while we definitely saw these trends across January’s Paris design events, we also saw some others. Take a peak below and then read on for the 2023 home decor trends we saw dominating in Paris.

Curves Everywhere, From Upholstery to Casegoods

Kicking off the curvy trend is Roche Bobois. In partnership with Maison & Objet Designer of the Year 2023, Raphael Navot, Roche Bobois showcased beautiful curves in the season’s trendiest palette, warm and earthy.

While curved sofas and chairs are definitely on trend in 2023, curves in tables and other casegoods also appear to be prominent.

Seen across so many exhibitors during Paris’ January 2023 design shows, Boucle in rugs was also seen in many collections.

The striking straight lines and sharp angles of Geometric patterns appeared again and again, making this a surefire trend for the year.

In Paris, we saw this trend in Elitis’s wall panels, but it appears in lots of bespoke installations as well. Either way, we love this look and Elits’ offering of it!

Warm Earthy Tones

In tune with the 1970s vibe across all categories of design in Paris, the warm earthy tones of the era are trending in 2023 home decor for certain.

Glass & Mirrors

As seen in the What’s New preview from Maison & Objet, glass is trending as a material for 2023 home decor trends. In addition, we saw lots of mirror too.
