What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness would be a summer’s day swimming in the mediterranean sea with my two little boys and husband. Although in reality, my two-year-old would be trying to eat sand, and my eldest splashing us. But perfect happiness for me would always involve family time.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Raising kind, empathetic boys and keeping our studio not only stable through the pandemic but thriving with a loyal fantastic team and happy, returning clients.

What profession does your alter ego have?

Something in the world of psychology or therapy. I have always loved learning about behaviours, natures, and the differences in people’s hobbies/lifestyles/cultures have always fascinated me.

The project you will never forget.

Our ‘Belgravia by the sea’ project was such a joy to work on. A wonderful client who was keen to push her boundaries creatively, a fantastic building in a dynamic area was so inspiring. We worked closely with the client to include family heirlooms shipped over from Madrid, family artworks, and bespoke joinery, and create glamorous yet cosy moments.

Your favorite business tool or resource.

Basecamp has been fantastic for us as we work from home. And it creates a really fantastic link to one another for easy communication and planning of daily tasks.

The most timeless design.

The PH 5 lamp, or anything by Hans J Wegner.

The biggest design faux pas.

Designing for somebody else, Aka what you think your friends would like, rather than what truly makes you happy. I would recommend anyone to not be afraid to break ‘Design rules’ and pick items/materials/colour/pattern that makes you happy and surround your home with them. Frame a special postcard if it means something. Dare to experiment with your favourite colours, on small areas at first, cushions, and accent pieces. Shop vintage and bring soul into your home, not worrying about everything being new or perfect ‘buy once and buy right’. In Denmark, we invest in our home items, for example, a classic pendant or chair, so we can pass them down to our family.

Your design motto.

Effortlessly luxurious interiors.

Our publisher KOKET makes statement décor; if you were to design a room around one KOKET piece, which would it be, and why?

I love the Vivre chandelier. I could see this in a snug living room with rich dark walls and textured soft furnishings. It’s great to have tension in a room, so we enjoy curating pieces that mix well together, some harmonise, and others contrast, so I could see in a cosy soft, this tough brass chandelier would look fantastic.
