French designer and gallery owner Stéphanie Coutas masters luxury-designed craftsmanship in modern spaces. Raised in Asia, the interior designer has created many projects in Paris’ most luxurious neighborhoods, starting with her personal project on the Esplanade des Invalides. As well as villas around the world, including the luxury mecca Saint-Tropez.

In addition to bringing beauty to private homes and hospitality spaces through her Paris-based design agency SC Edition, Stéphanie also runs Galerie Stéphanie Coutas: an inspiring space to present her exclusive furniture and decor pieces. Designs created through partnerships with brands such as Blanc Carrare for marble, Baccarat for lighting, and Tai Ping for rugs. SC’s one-of-a-kind pieces are a testament to her heritage and cultural background, which follow her daily work and inspiration.

As design goes, Stéphanie is passionate about contrast in her projects resulting in sophisticated and tasteful designs. Known for combining clear lines with strong, high-quality materials from precious woods to luscious velvets, there is something magical about an SC design. I am focused, serious, and trying to remember how humans can live together and help each other in times of need.

A summer vibe with all my friends and family happy around me.

Not quitting smoking… One I wish I could stop!

“Certes” in French, which means “absolutely” … Ridiculous!

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?

My children, who love each other, and my family in general.

IF YOU WERE TO DIE AND COME BACK AS A PERSON OR A THING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I think I would be me… maybe in a man’s skin for a month!

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST REGRET?

Honestly, I don’t have any.

WHAT PROFESSION DOES YOUR ALTER EGO HAVE?

My alter ego is a writer or a movie director.

The construction of a 1500 m2 house in the desert… wild and creative!

Textures and finishings.

I guess the idea of “too much” … I love people with a sense of excess. They are free!
