How to Incorporate Pantone’s Color of the Year into Your Home Decor
Every year, Pantone comes out with a color that they think epitomizes high fashion and class. They call this their Color of the Year. This year, that color is Viva Magenta. Viva Magenta is a luscious pink red that falls between bright red and muted shades of pink. It’s a bold, fun color. Drape Your Furniture in Viva Magenta
You can feature some Viva Magenta in your home by using it to upholster furniture. If you want to go for some super high-end, well-made-to-last pieces, you can always get a furniture loan if you don’t want to drop a bunch of cash at once. But you can also save money when you purchase second-hand goods.
If you hunt hard enough, you can find nice overstuffed chairs at second-hand stores for as little as $10-20. Maybe you’ll pay a little bit more, but still nowhere near what you would spend if you bought them brand new.
Then, you can buy a bolt of Viva Magenta cloth. Look for bolts on Amazon or another online outlet. Some brick-and-mortar craft store locations carry textiles too.
Then, you can cut the cloth to fit the chair and drape it over the existing upholstery. You can use a staple gun to hold it in place.

You can get Viva Magenta paint at multiple paint stores, either online or somewhere close to you. You can paint the room of your choice in this entrancing color, or you might paint just a single accent wall. That will add a new dimension to that space.
Use Viva Magenta to Cover Books
You could also use books to add some Viva Magenta to your home. You’ll need to get several books of uniform size for this technique. Their contents are unimportant. You can get the books from Goodwill or a library sale.
Then, find a Viva Magenta-toned wallpaper. You can find several styles featuring this color, or get a solid Viva Magenta wallpaper instead. With the color being so popular, you can also find pre-wrapped sets on the market.
However, if you stick with DYIng, watch some tutorials to learn how to cut the wallpaper into the right size and use it to wrap the books. You can also use wrapping paper to produce the same effect.
You can wrap a few dozen books in Viva Magenta wallpaper or wrapping paper and feature them on a shelf. That will add a vibrant splash of color to draw the eye as soon as someone enters the room.
