Cantinho do Avillez, a Must-Stop Restaurant in Porto

Located in one of the most frequented and best-known streets in the city of Porto, in Portugal, we can find the Cantinho do Avillez. It is a very welcoming, relaxed, and hospitable space. In this restaurant, we find the best of contemporary Portuguese cuisine. It is influenced by travel in a relaxed and comfortable space.
Recommended by many as one of the must-visit restaurants, Cantinho do Avillez opened its doors to us! Thus, we had the pleasure of finding out more about this magnificent space and its delicious food.
The Experience
First of all, it should be noted that the whole concept of this magnificent restaurant in Porto is related to Portuguese food. Although Portuguese gastronomy is very rich in culture and history, it is important to say that there is a contemporary touch throughout the menu.
When we entered, we immediately realized that the space was very relaxed and friendly, making people feel completely at ease.

We started with the starters, and we tried 21st Century Professor style eggs and Cod nuggets with garlic and chive mayonnaise, and we especially loved the second option. In addition, you can also try octopus tartare and deep-fried green beans with tartar sauce.

For the main dishes, our team chose Flaked cod with bread crumbs, LT egg, and “exploding” olives, and roasted octopus, which, in addition to looking phenomenal, were absolutely well cooked. On the menu, you can find a lot more variety of dishes that are not limited to fish dishes. For example, spoon-tender veal with curry sauce or steak tartare with NY-style potatoes.
Likewise, as for desserts, there are seven options. We recommend CANTINHO’s chocolate cake with strawberry sorbet.
