What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness for me varies. It can be spending time with my kids, cozied together watching a movie, enjoying the sunset from my apartment with a glass of wine, catching up with work on a Saturday morning with the world’s largest cup of coffee at the banquette in my kitchen in Hudson (a.k.a. my nook), or discovering a cool song and playing it over and over again.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My children, first and foremost. They are the most incredible people I know! A close second is starting my own business and getting to create and collaborate on exciting and innovative designs with my team.

What profession does your alter ego have?

I really love what I do, but if I did something else in another life, it would be a movie set designer.

The project you will never forget.

I will never forget the first townhouse project I worked on on New York City’s Upper East Side. It was the largest project I managed at the time. I learned so much while working on it, from how best to restore a landmark façade, designing functional and beautiful interiors for a young family, and coordinating/managing a large team.

Your favorite business tool or resource.

We are going old school here: tracing paper and a pencil; it’s a classic pairing.

The most timeless design.

Timeless design is laid out thoughtfully and well-proportioned. It is simple, elegant, and comfortable.

The biggest design faux pas.

A design that doesn’t relate to human scale. Creating an aesthetically pleasing space or object that is not functional.

Your design motto.

Design spaces you would like to live in yourself.

Our publisher, KOKET, makes statement décor. If you were to design a room around one of their pieces, which would it be, and why?

I love the Enchanted Dining Chair. It is a beautiful and very bold design. It’s comfortable, stands out, and adds visual interest to any room. We once used it to help create a dreamlike bedroom.

Love Happens when…

There is a choice, a connection, and you feel comfortable.
