To celebrate this classic scent, 15 women artists were invited to freely interpret the Miss Dior codes signatures. More than create a work related to the fragrance these artists will pay a tribute to one of the greatest couturiers of all time and to a subversive spirit of a perfume. The exhibition include the trends and artistic movements that have influenced the Christian Dior work. Photos, manuscripts, archives or even dresses will be exposing to let you get in into the Dior’s history.

The works of the artists are brilliant. Marina Nepomuceno, Brazilian sculptor, used the Miss Dior bottle as starting point for her colorful installation. Replicas of ceramic bottle engender an organizational structure that mixes beads, crochet and plastic. Carla Matti, Italian artist, was inspired by the Rose, wich first appears in a poster by René Gruau. She created a bed of white antique roses by using 3D techology.

Carole Benzaken, French painter and sculptor, based his creation on the cube-shaped cap of the Miss Dior´s bottle. The artist used tree branches in glass to reach the notion of “olfactory scent.” Liang Yuanwei presents a decorated canvas with floral motif. A subtle tribute to the Miss Dior dress embroidered with a carpet of flowers.

Lee Bul imagined Natalie Portman exhaling the extraordinary strength of his incarnation of Miss Dior. Assigned the mirror between the wife and the muse. A notion of infinite reflection. The British photographer Hannah Starkey focused on Miss Dior Lace and the history and personality of the fragrance’s first muse, Catherine Dior.

Joana Vasconcelos played the Couture lace that adorns Miss Dior bottle´s neck and created a huge Lace made of hundreds of illuminated bottles …J’adore Miss Dior! Famous red dress “Concerto” (1957) is shown by his side. The French designer Ionna Vautrin embraced Miss Dior´s glove. She created pavilion whose roof is composed entirely of thousands of black, pink and white gloves.
Karen Kilimnik Work
The American painter Karen Kilimnik found inspiration in “Folies”. She chose to create a shoulder-high reconstruction of the enchanted, colorful and bucolic “Folies décor. The Slovenian designer Nika Zupang had imagined and designed a room inspired by Virginia Woolf. In this space, pink and black, whose walls feature the Dior cannage, the visitor sits in a chair whose back form a Lace.

The American visual artist Alyson Shotz chose the emblematic Dior´s Rose, to create a prodigious structure covered with a film of light reflection. It´s iridescent skeleton transmits futuristic beauty with vibrant colors. Polly Apfelbaum, American artist, created an enormous colored rainbow carpet by the houndstooth motif that adorns the Miss Dior bottles.

Lara Baladi, the egyptian-lebanese photographer and director, created a playful and fascinating film that transports the viewer into a starry night scene. Tomoko Shioyasu pays an homenage to the Rose, queen of the Dior garden. The artist created a meticulously cut paper tapestry of an immaculate white rose.

Shirin Neshat, Irainan artist, chose to film Dior muse: Natalie Porter. Her black and white film shot on a desert beach captures the unmistakable vitality of a heroine who has conquered dark forces. These exhibition, what happens in Paris, have fantastic cultural program ideas. The artists brilliance inspired us. It is simply fantastic and well worth a visit.
