Marc Jacobs-designed Diet Coke cans unveiled
Marc Jacobs has designed three cans for Diet Coke, celebrating one decade each since the drink was launched 30 years ago.
‘Sparkling Together For 30 Years’ is the motto for the most recent partnership between the fashion designer Marc Jacobs and the Diet Coke that celebrates this year 30 years of success after its launch in the market. This is how Marc Jacobs has taken over the previous work of his predecessor Jean Paul Gaultier as new creative Director of Diet Coke. Marc says he felt “extremely privileged” to be asked to take on this job because he “admired the work of the other designers who have participated in this project in the past.”
A teaser was launched recently announcing this partnership with a photo booth parody staring Marc Jacobs in his naked gorgeous birth suit bearing nothing else but a kilt and shows. “I don’t have much shame or anything in terms of taking off my clothes”. Oh but we don’t really mind the clothes, do we ladies? Your sculptural 49-year-old body adorned with a collection of colorful and peculiar tattoos is more than enough for us!
But going back to Diet Coke… The teaser features a very alluring shirtless Marc Jacobs, paying tribute to the legendary Diet Coke ‘Hunk’ ads from the 1990s. Jacobs brings a modern twist to this interpretation, with style and light-hearted humour.
In the following weeks, a limited collection of bottles inspired by Eighties, Nineties and Noughties and designed by Marc Jacobs will go on sale. Here’s a preview of the Marc Jacobs-designed Diet Coke cans:
