Our ability to turn awkward moments into comedy gold and crack jokes sharp enough to cut through glass ceilings is a testament to our shared experiences. Consider or step back a moment and dive into the hilarity, wit, and undeniable truth that women can be funny\u2014and often more humorous than they&#8217;re given credit for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-speaking-dangerously-and-funnily-is-a-skill-and-it-goes-like-this\"><strong>Speaking dangerously and funnily is a skill, and it goes like this:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A woman is like a tea bag: You can&#8217;t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.&#8221; \u2013\u00a0Eleanor Roosevelt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or &#8220;If I was a bird I know who I&#8217;d shit on&#8221;! \u2013\u00a0Did I just say that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The empowered woman (my favorite subject to kiss) knows humor isn&#8217;t just our forte\u2014it&#8217;s our survival skill and makes us unstoppable. Let&#8217;s take it a notch higher, we&#8217;re not just funny, we&#8217;re so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovehappensmag.com\/blog\/2024\/10\/19\/women-and-ai-the-venus-factor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI \u2013 Awe-Inspiring<\/a> (my original created caption).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As unlicensed comedy practitioners, we are the amative icons that expertly juggle a toddler, a to-do list, and a snarky comeback and navigate daily chaos while challenging stereotypes, breaking down barriers, and paving the way for gender equality, multitasking as we crack a joke, soothe a tantrum, and remind you where you left your keys\u2014all in one breath!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/guilty-pleasures\/casegoods\/serpentine-mirror.php?utm_source=LH_Blog_article&amp;utm_medium=banner&amp;utm_campaign=Banner_Article&amp;utm_content=serpentine_mirror\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"130\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lovehappensmag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/kk-serpentine-mirror-750.jpg\" alt=\"serpentine mirror by koket\" class=\"wp-image-65454\" style=\"width:500px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lovehappensmag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/kk-serpentine-mirror-750.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.lovehappensmag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/kk-serpentine-mirror-750-300x52.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For women, humor is like eyeliner\u2014it&#8217;s sharp, it&#8217;s bold, and women use it better than anyone else. Our humor is as diverse as we are, from witty one-liners to clever observations. To the stand-up acts, I say, &#8220;Move over; life is our comedy stage&#8221;! Inviting the New Year, I am, with laughter and cheer alongside my sisterhood, the world over, who believe empowerment is not a trend; it&#8217;s a lifestyle! This prompts some introspection about my tendency to speak provocatively this year\u2014perhaps more accurately, &#8220;my year of speaking dangerously with humor.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How I&#8217;m perceived is important, as humor doesn&#8217;t always land well and can sometimes make me seem less likable. However, humor can enhance how others view us\u2014as competent, diligent, and independent \u2014when used effectively rather than coming across as domineering or abrasive. I&#8217;m just thinking out loud here, but it occurs to me that women don&#8217;t necessarily face the same need to appeal to men in this way; they already do, if you know what I mean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-when-examining-humor-through-a-gender-lens-it-s-clear-that-both-men-and-women-wield-humor-in-all-its-forms-sarcastic-witty-anecdotal-ironic-satirical-and-as-intricate-and-nuanced-as-language\"><strong>When examining humor through a gender lens, it&#8217;s clear that both men and women wield humor in all its forms\u2014sarcastic, witty, anecdotal, ironic, satirical\u2014and as intricate and nuanced as language. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Humor can be a double-edged sword: a weapon that alienates or a tool to express interest and intelligence. I&#8217;m simply seeing here, not passing judgment on its quality! This said, each gender accomplishes being funny in different ways.
