If there is a possible path to a perfect Rome, one that avoids all the inconveniences of being in one of the most touristy destinations in the world, then Palazzo Roma will be the chosen place to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of five hotels in the Shedir Collection in the city, and upon arrival, it becomes clear that there is something more than the prestigious emblems on brochures: the location, on the central Via del Corso, the five-star rating, the seal of The Leading Hotels of the World\u2014all of these are quickly overshadowed by the expectation that one is about to experience the true essence of Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a sense of ancestral history in the air; several noble families once inhabited the palace, with each room bearing witness to sumptuous parties, cultural events, and artistic exhibitions. Great personalities of society have filled these spaces, ascending and descending the beautiful staircase that connects the five floors of the building. This historical legacy radiates from every nook and cranny, and in the aura of this aristocracy, the staff seems to correspond perfectly. More than mere employees, they resemble actors in a real scene, inviting guests to partake in their own script\u2014a script without imposed order, leaving each detail open to interpretation, guiding the next step to take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior Design to Love<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are inside the palace. The 39 rooms and suites, though aligned with a coherent creative vision, each declare their own personality. Vibrant color accents and linear patterns blend perfectly with the rich ornamentation of the ceilings and walls in a form of neo-classical eclecticism that balances luxury with playfulness, soothing and delighting the eye. The lighting, the portraits, and the paintings harmonize beautifully with the elegance of the marbles, the wooden panels, and the aesthetics of the furniture, creating an ambiance that is as intimate as it is relaxed. All the design challenges the norms of traditional hospitality, greatly benefiting the guest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Core Restaurant & The Bar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Moving on to the common area, the restaurant, Core, is, at every level, the pinnacle of the palace. The menu, rich in sophisticated interpretations of local traditional cuisine by Chef Federico Sartucci, will leave no palate untouched. However, the culinary excellence does not fall short of the astonishing ambiance of the room itself, undoubtedly the hotel\u2019s masterpiece, with sumptuous frescoed ceilings and walls depicting the history of Roman art, elevating the space to the realm of the city\u2019s major attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bar, formerly the fireplace lounge, provides an excellent excuse for a pause. Decorated in shades of blue, it showcases a provocative collection of portraits. The endless cocktail menu and the select atmosphere ensure that you have discovered a hidden gem in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Music Room<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The journey can only be complete with a visit to the music room. It feels like the materialization of a musical inspiration. Dominating the center of the space is a sculpture of Euterpe, the goddess of music, which seems to suspend against a wall lined with scores, featuring a selection of violins and wind instruments orchestrated by the outstretched arms of a faceless maestro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrapping Up the Palazzo Roma Experience<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The experience is perfectly complemented by the centrality of the palace. You enter and exit. You exit and enter again. Outside, just steps away, is the Trevi Fountain, an unknown alley, then the Pantheon, and before we realize it, night has fallen. And inside again, we feel the extension of Rome’s magic\u2014the fatigue washed away in a bubble bath, a sense of time that we realize we cannot grasp. We surrender to the present, to the silence of the palace. We are still here, yet already longing to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
