That&#8217;s the real appeal of linear lighting \u2014 it&#8217;s practical and good-looking at the same time. It lights up exactly where you need it, and quietly dresses up the spaces that don&#8217;t need the spotlight. Realize you skipped this after the walls are closed up, and you&#8217;re in trouble.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wiring path \u2014 plan how the wire gets from the strip to the power source, ideally hidden inside the ceiling or behind the baseboard. Don&#8217;t wait until it&#8217;s installed to discover the wire&#8217;s just sitting there in plain sight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recess depth \u2014 figure out whether the strip needs a light channel and how deep it should be. Talk to your carpenter about this ahead of time \u2014 too shallow, and you&#8217;ll see distinct light spots instead of a smooth line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exact length \u2014 measure the real length before ordering. Strips come in fixed segment lengths, so cutting too much can&#8217;t be undone, and ordering too short leaves an awkward gap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Control method \u2014 switch, remote, or app \u2014 decide this early, since each one needs different wiring. Deciding to switch later basically means redoing the install.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bottom line: these are all build-phase decisions.
