The building was originally designed by architectural firm Silliman &amp; Farnsworth in 1883 and was used for a variety of functions over its life before becoming a luxurious hotel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bykoket.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20337\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/f5_the_beekman_a_thompson_hotel_new_york_yatzer.jpg\" alt=\"Manhattan Hotel: The_beekman_a_thompson_hotel_new_york_yatzer, Mandy stool by KOKET, luxury furniture\" width=\"640\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After being boarded up for many years, the building\u2019s revival was sparked by the unveiling of fashion designer Proenza Schouler\u2019s Spring 2013 collection in its stunning atrium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bykoket.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20338\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/p1_the_beekman_a_thompson_hotel_new_york_yatzer.jpg\" alt=\"Manhattan Hotel: The_beekman_a_thompson_hotel_new_york_yatzer, Mandy stool by KOKET, luxury furniture, atrium, NYC\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the ultra-talented <em><strong>Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects<\/strong><\/em> and designer <em><strong>Martin Brudnizki<\/strong><\/em> were commissioned to renovate the building which opened as <em><strong>The Beekman Hotel<\/strong><\/em> in 2016.
