Ginna Christensen & GC Collaborative<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nThe Brooklyn born daughter of two entrepreneurs always knew innovation and the arts would play a role in her life. Ginna began her career in fashion merchandising and marketing. She then moved to the world of art and interiors taking on numerous roles in design, sales, marketing, branding, and PR. Women at Work<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nIn addition to GC Collaborative, Ginna also has a women\u2019s organization called Women at Work. A network which began in 2016, Women at Work<\/a> speaks to female designers, artists, makers, and business developers. \u201cThe idea came up when I was having lunch one day with interior designer Krista Schrock and textile designer Brook Perdigon,\u201d said Ginna. \u201cWe were having a great conversation about our work, our challenges and our successes, when Brook said, \u2018I wish we had a place to go to talk about these things on the regular\u2019. I responded, \u2018Why don\u2019t we just create it?\u2019\u201d

The talk will explore the biggest mistakes designers make and how to use these failures and platforms for educating themselves so they can reach higher levels of success. \u201cIt is my desire to create value for my members and address the challenges we are all facing,\u201d says Ginna.

<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\nGinna often posts inspiring quotes on her Instagram<\/a> so I asked her to share her top 3 favorite mantras. \u201cThe first that comes to mind is \u2018Be inspired\u2019,\u201d Ginna began. \u201cI came up with this two-word mantra for my life when I was working with artists Cole Sternberg and Curtis Kulig. Cole, uses the words, \u2018One day\u2019 in his work, and Curtis \u2018Love me\u2019. They inspired me to come up with my own two words. I even had stickers made and started posting them around town like I was a secret street artist. Other mantras that are front of mind for me now are \u2018Create from your core\u2019, and \u2018Know thyself\u2019.\u201d
