Milan Design Week 2019 inundated the city of Milan with innovative and inspiring art, design, furniture, and beyond this April!
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Love Happens<\/em> had so many of favorites, here is a list of the companies, artists and installations around the city that really charmed us!
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INSPIRED IN THE CITY @ MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2019<\/strong>
<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

DimoreStudio | DimoreMilano<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Milan\u2019s own ultra talented design duo Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran of DimoreStudio took over the city with their creativity and their newest evolution DimoreMilano.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDimoreStudio is still the design studio dedicated to interiors, boutiques, homes, hotels, and restaurants,\u201d the studio told Elle Decor<\/a>, \u201cbut this January we launched DimoreMilano as a brand for furniture and decor, distinguished by a three-dimensional D, which harks back to the old furniture design logos of the 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love Happens @ Dimore Gallery where Gabriella Crespi’s gorgeous creations were on display for Milan Design Week 2019<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The pair had multiple inspiring exhibitions during Milan Design Week. First came, a beautiful collection of 70\u2019s inspired furniture and sumptuous textiles exhibited at the Ex Cinema Arti. Next, a 14-piece capsule collection of luxurious limited edition decor items for Dior Maison. And finally, a stunning curation of vintage designs by the Italian designer Gabriella Crespi at their Via Solferino headquarters.

Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During Milan Design Week 2019 Louis Vuitton introduced new pieces to their Objets Nomades collection. New pieces by the Italian duos of Atelier Biagetti and Zanellato \/ Bortotto joined the list of renowned Objets Nomades designers with their collection of personalized travel inspired designs. Unveiled at the Neoclassical Palazzo Serbelloni the exhibition included the entire new collection as well as past designs in new colors and materials.

Also on display was a new chair by the Campana Brothers called the Bulbo Armchair. This giant yellow envelope like form of the chair creates the experience of being embraced by a flower.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And last but certainly not least, Marcel Wanders designed four new pieces: the cage-like Diamond armchair; Venezia, a lamp inspired by traditional Venetian lanterns; and the Murano glass Diamond vase pendant lights hanging from leather straps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Versace x Sasha Bikoff<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During Milan Design Week 2019, Sasha Bikoff partnered with Versace and artist Andy Dixon<\/a>. The trio created a fantastic installation with metallic leathers, mirror, glass, tropical vibes and tons of color! The new home line includes five capsule home collections: Pop Medusa, Medusa, Rhapsody, Logomania, and Jungle. And offers pieces from the bedroom to dining to living room and for the first time an outdoor collection (Jungle). Held at the Versace Palazzo on Via Ges\u00f9, not usually open to the public, this special event sold out days after it was announced leaving many wishing they could get in! <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Rossana Orlandi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wow! I had heard about the majesty of Rossana Orlandi\u2019s showroom in Milan, but honestly what I witnessed far exceeded my expectations! Seemingly endless creativity filled the many, many relatively small rooms of this vast space! My personal favorites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In London-based designer Bethan Gray’s Exploring Eden collection, with Nature Squared, the use of by-products from other industries is explored in an effort to promote sustainability. On display at Rossana Orlandi during Milan Design Week 2019 were stunning pieces showcasing capiz shells, feathers and other sea creatures collected from fisherman.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Missoni “Home Sweet Home”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the most colorful installation in Milan\u2019s brimming Brera Design District was Missoni\u2019s \u201cHome Sweet Home\u201d presentation. Curated by Angela Missoni<\/a> in collaboration with artist Alessandra Roveda the space bloomed with happiness and a boho vintage vibe. The exhibition featured an enchanting house entirely covered with multicolor crochet (Trend Alert: Crochet was everywhere!)

Smeg x Dolce & Gabanna<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019ORA DANNATA by Carlos Amorales<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An instant Instagram favorite, the amazing L\u2019ORA DANNATA by Carlos Amorales exhibition of a mass swarm of black butterflies filling Fondazione Pini was truly spectacular. Curated by Gabi Scardi this installation was insanely magical!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Marc Ange<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We always love seeing Marc Ange\u2019s \u201cRefuge\u201d<\/a> creations! At Milan Design Week 2019 Marc Ange<\/a> took over the Palazzo Cusani with a stunning white variation covered in Oceano fabric by Dedar. With the rendition titled \u201cLe Refuge de la Nuit\u201d, the artist once again delighted visitors!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The “Giraffes in Love” installation at Universit\u00e0 Statale Milano stole hearts around Milan Design Week 2019 and all over social media! The pair of 4m giraffe sculptures were designed by Marcantonio<\/a> for Qeeboo<\/a> holding chandeliers by Masiero Lights<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Alex Chinneck

The sculptural art installation by Alex Chinneck during Milan Design Week 2019 was exceptionally innovative!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist perfectly summed up the work on his Instagram<\/a>, “Over 200,000 people visited the unzipping building over the last 6 days. My sculptures playfully disrupt our perception of what is physically possible but this project has only been possible because of the brilliant people that built it with me. Ambition gives birth to an idea but collaboration makes it grow. Thank you to everyone who visited the artworks, thank you to everyone who built the artworks with me, thank you to IQOS for this partnership and thanks for having me Milan. The work has now gone forever.<\/em>“

Artemest x Ted Milano \u2018Living Objects\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Artemest<\/a>, the online retailer of an exceptional collection of handmade products crafted by Italian artists, partnered with showroom Ted Milano<\/a> during Milan Design Week 2019 for an exhibition titled Living Objects. A 1930s Milanese villa was transformed with a curated selection of furniture, lighting, and decor all crafted by Italian artisans and designers. Creativity filled the luxurious setting!

Gucci Pop-up Shop Apartment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although I cannot deny the grandma-esque feeling of Gucci Decor\u2019s pop-up apartment store during Milan Fashion Week, the mishmash of prints and patterns was a common trend seen on in fashion on the streets of Milan and of course, is a Gucci<\/a> staple. The two-story space housed Gucci\u2019s latest additions to their houseware collection including furniture, porcelain, tableware, and blankets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
