Sustainable and recycled materials were trending across many brands and installations at Salone del Mobile 2019 showing resounding respect for our natural world. Fun and sassy, the fringe trend is a great way to bring some luxurious pazazz to any interior! While crochet may conjure up visions of grandma, this process of creating fabric by interlocking loops of yarn, thread or strands of other materials using a crochet hook is definitely in trend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n From Missoni\u2019s crocheted rainbow fantasy land \u201cHome Sweet Home\u201d to the exterior of cashmere and wool fashion brand Falconeri’s Milan boutique and other beautiful interpretations of the craft throughout Salone del Mobile 2019 Lh loves the crochet trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bright and reminiscent of past eras, neon made quite a few bold and inspiring appearances at Salone del Mobile 2019! At the launch of Versace\u2019s new furniture collection, exhibited in partnership with interior designer Sasha Bikoff and artist Andy Dixon, neon vibes set the tone! In the renowned Milan gallery of Rossana Orlandi, Umzikim displayed their new acrylic collection \u201cNeon\u201d. And Turkey-based interior and product designer April Key Design presented Ocean Drive, a collection of neon art deco-inspired architecture, lighting, and sculpture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From rusty oranges and natural beiges to sky blues and just about every shade of greens, earth tones were definitely on trend at Salone del Mobile 2019. The colors of our natural environment were only part of the nature trend presenting itself around the city. In addition, plants, flowers, and animal-inspired details and full on attributions of these natural elements were everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well in hand with the nature-inspired trend was a trend that is of the utmost importance, the need for sustainability! Sustainable and recycled materials were trending across many brands and installations at Salone del Mobile 2019 showing resounding respect for our natural world. In conjunction and on display through August 2019, the city\u2019s museum La Triennale de Milano\u2019s exhibition, \u201cBroken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival\u201d<\/a>, showcased the urgent issues connected to the natural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rossana Orlandi presented the finalists from their 1st Ro Plastic Prize, part of their Guiltless Plastic project<\/a>. Also in the Ro gallery, Bethan Gray presented a collection of furniture featuring Nature Squared\u2019s<\/a> sustainable surfaces created with wasted or otherwise underutilized by-products from other industries. The trend for handmade design and beautiful works by talented artisans and craftsman was alive and flourishing during Salone del Mobile 2019. Seen within the crochet trend and throughout endless exhibitions and installations across the city, the design industry continues to honor the heritage of handmade and work to ensure it is maintained into the future. One of our favorite trends is that of the blurred boundary between fashion and furniture. And what better place than the fashion capital of the world, Milan, for this trend to be in full force! Missoni, Gucci, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi and so on.
