Maybe it was a close relative or just someone you felt needed guidance. Young women have the capacity to be choosy about their futures, but often they could use a little help exploring all of their options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mentorship is proven to be effective in adolescent development. That\u2019s why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/campaigns\/2019\/internship.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"mentoring programs (opens in a new tab)\">mentoring programs<\/a> are so invaluable for youth today. The next generation must know more than we did. That is the advantage of having a history; we have something we can learn from.&nbsp; Young women are our future mothers, politicians, lawyers, businesswomen, and even homemakers. But let that be their choice. You will never instinctively learn everything if\nit is not first deposited in you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what are some great ways to begin mentoring young women and doing it effectively?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>First, get to know your mentee. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Every young woman is different and being knowledgeable of those differences will allow you to speak her language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Second, ask \u201cthe why\u201d. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Why has this particular subject piqued her interest or why is she considering this career path over another? Mentors are here to encourage, but also to provide realistic expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovehappensmag.com\/blog\/2018\/06\/25\/best-interior-design-internships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Meet the KOKET-Love Happens Intern\/Mentorship Program (opens in a new tab)\">Meet the KOKET-Love Happens Intern\/Mentorship Program<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lastly, build on her strengths.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mentors should recognize the strengths of their mentee.
