The essay, and in turn the Costume Institute\u2019s exhibition, examines how the elements of \u201cirony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality and exaggeration are expressed in fashion\u201d, writes The Met. <\/p>\n\n\n\nThe main goal of this exhibition is to explore the\nmainstream culture and every creative aspect within its roots. It presents over\n250 objects and not just from fashion. The exhibit includes womenswear and\nmenswear, sculptures, paintings, and drawings from the 17th-century to the\npresent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition questions our perception of our backs and those of others going from backpacks to the sensuality of a d\u00e9collet\u00e9 or the constraints of a closure. It proposes a thematic course of a hundred silhouettes and accessories from the 18th century to the present day from Galliera’s collections. In addition, This set is complemented by a selection of film clips and photographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, this exhibition features dresses that were designed in partnership with Dior, including Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferr\u00e9, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri, who helps carry Dior\u2019s vision into the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
