The highly acclaimed Holiday House NYC opened its doors to the public on November 14th for the 2019 edition of its annual breast cancer awareness and fundraising show house. Set in a luxurious Charles A. Platt\u2013designed\u00a0townhouse\u00a0located at 125 East 65th Street, this year\u2019s team of talented design firms created yet another magnificent interior to help raise funds for breast cancer research. The 2019 edition of Holiday House NYC will remain open to the public through December 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its founding in 2008 by veteran breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner, Holiday House NYC has grown to be one of the city’s leading interior design events. Following its success in New York, Holiday House created a summer expansion in the Hamptons<\/a> and another edition in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holiday House donates all gala and ticket sales proceeds to the\u00a0Breast Cancer Research Foundation<\/a>. Other programs and events such as book signings and a young designers’ event are also held throughout the showhouse opening dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE HOLIDAY HOUSE NYC 2019 SHOWHOUSE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

For the 2019 edition of Holiday House NYC seventeen talented design firms transformed the residence, creating luxuriously appointed spaces and innovative designs \u2013 scroll on to explore and be inspired!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBreakfast at Tiffany’s” in the 2nd Floor Salon by Ally Coulter Designs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrimmed with custom cabinets containing\nprecious jewels, glamorous Tiffany accouterments, and Tiffany blue and white\nceilings precisely tinted by Benjamin Moore reflects timeless luxury style\nreminiscent of the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany\u2019s. The glistening antique French\nbrass and rock crystal chandelier and sconces add more \u2018glam\u2019 to the\nself-indulgent, feminine salon.\u201d<\/em>                                <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\nlove to reference history and different design elements in the spaces I create.\nI recently visited the Neues Palais in Potsdam and was inspired by how\ndramatically the spaces evolved over time, with so many events transpiring over\nthe 20th century. The space retains its elegance but bears a mark of each\nperiod that passed through.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA French Affair\u201d in the 3rd Floor Master Bedroom by Bjorn Bjornsson Interior Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInspired by a holiday in Montpellier,\nFrance, the concept for the Master Bedroom is eclectic modern with a French\ntwist. In creating the \u201cold and new\u201d design, I took an artistic approach in\nselecting furnishings and textures that though stylistically diverse,\ncollectively produce an elegant, unique, and personal design.\u201d <\/em>           <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUndefined Lines is a bedroom inspired by\ncurvature and linear thoughts brought to life through reflection. this design\nscheme is primarily black and white with pops of soft, gentle colors to\nilluminate the space the aesthetic is influenced by curvature, squiggles, zig\nzags, and grids to ultimately create an undefined reflective space.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The large scale paintings and sculptures are curated together with custom furniture & lighting by Holly Hunt, Roman Thomas, Michael Felix, Matthew Fairbank Design, FLOS Lighting, Matthew Studios, and Egg Collective. The enormous 17’W x 7’H black and white diptych painting is by Jeff Muhs. Other art in the room includes pieces by James Austin Murray, Mark Davies, Emma Donnersberg, Kristina Kossi, and Dylan Martinez. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
