For the 3rd annual edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, nineteen award-winning interior design firms created design magic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set in a plantation-style home owned by the famous interior designer Lars Bolander, this year’s Florida iteration of the esteemed NYC Show House features gorgeous spaces decorated by some of the nation’s most prominent design firms. The show house officially opened on February 1, 2020, and will remain open through Sunday, March 1. The event benefits both the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach has become a highly anticipated event since first opening its doors in 2017 and we are thrilled to return for a third year,<\/em>\u201d said James Druckman, President and CEO of the New York Design Center, and President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. \u201cThis year\u2019s incredible talent is comprised of local, national, and international designers, and we are so grateful for their support in raising critical programming funds for the 17,000 children served by both organizations.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Show House<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In just under three months, the group of talented designers completely transformed the remarkable 8,751-square-foot home inspired by South African and Dutch architecture. Affectionately dubbed Bamboo Hill, the main home, located at 260 Palmetto Lane in West Palm Beach\u2019s South End neighborhood, features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a great room with vaulted ceilings and french doors that open up to an expansive loggia, and a spacious kitchen with an adjacent outdoor dining terrace. The home\u2019s large master suite offers sprawling garden and pool views. The estate also boasts two guest houses and a pool house. Along with an expansive private garden \u200bwith lush tropical flora for the ultimate outdoor living and entertaining experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The level of creativity and imagination on display through unexpected wall treatments, beautiful furnishings and an array of bold colors will delight design enthusiasts and novices alike. Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake Worth Beach-based \u200bJobe Lopez of Lopez Group, Inc. \u200bdrew inspiration for the home\u2019s front garden from the vineyards at the Klein Constantia Estate in South Africa. Luscious greenery and native Floridian plants open up the fa\u00e7ade of the house, while cypress line the exterior walls. Two olive trees alongside the front door offer a warm welcome, while white paint adorns the trunks of palm trees along the front of the house elevating the plantation-style architecture of the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Alizee Brion\u200b of Miami-based \u200bLight On White<\/a> \u200bmakes a powerful first impression upon entering the home. \u201cLe Jardin\u201d \u200bcelebrates the home\u2019s \u200bblurred boundaries between the exterior and interior with the lush outdoors serving as the inspiration for the tropical garden design. Natural elements, textures and materials, including \u200bhanging \u200bplanters, a custom terrazzo rug, and tailored pleat drapery by \u200bThe Shade Store\u200b in Sunbrella\u00ae Alma White with a custom tassel trim,\u200b \u200bcarry the green and white color scheme throughout. A hand-painted bamboo leaf mural by artist Austin Kerr lines the entrance. While \u200ban eye-catching porcelain floral installation by \u200bVal\u00e9ria Nascimento adorns the back wall. Curated pieces from Light On White\u2019s own debut furniture collection are featured throughout. He coined the space \u201cThe Palmetto Snug.\u201d\u200b Inspired by the subtle parchment and pink hues of the Fromental abstract wallpaper, the room features coastal touches of pinks and corals, vintage rush chairs, a relaxed roman shade in custom fabric by \u200bThe Shade Store\u200b, a well-appointed bar and sculptural pieces throughout, creating the perfect atmosphere for a cocktail by the custom fireplace on a chilly evening. The bath underwent a complete transformation with terrazzo tile, CW Stockwell wallpaper and new plumbing fixtures by \u200bKOHLER\u200b. The outdoor terrace features a collection of vintage French rattan furniture<\/a> and a stone dining table by \u200bSerena & Lily\u200b, while hand-painted shells from Cape Town adorn the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from Los Angeles, \u200bKevin Isbell\u200b of \u200bKevin Isbell Interiors\u200b informed the design of the home\u2019s second guest suite and bath by dubbing it\u200b \u201cA Writer\u2019s Retreat.\u201d \u200bDesigned with the worldly traveler in mind, an oversized pagoda-shaped daybed set against a floating wall lacquered in deep eggplant anchors the space. Bright colors, eye-catching details, and a ceramic tiger from \u200bEleish Van Breems Home\u200b fill the retreat, while the hand-painted tropical scene wrapping the walls nods to the home\u2019s South Florida location. Around the corner lies a new closet system by \u200bThe Container Store\u200b which holds books and accessories, as well as the guest bath which received a masculine refresh with \u200bSilestone by Cosentino\u200b in Eternal Noir, \u200bKOHLER \u200bplumbing fixtures, and a vanity surround, shower curtain, and tailored pleat drapery by \u200bThe Shade Store\u200b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Built on a quintessential Palm Beach color palette of pink and white and featuring rattan, linen, and natural materials, the Great Room boasts stunning views of the outdoor logia, garden, and swimming pool. High-gloss, built-in bookcases in \u200bBenjamin Moore\u2019s\u200b Custis Salmon stretch across an entire wall, housing a number of books and white sculptural pieces, while a stunning wallcovering sets the scene for a stylish living room with edited details and timeless sensibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

A Thermador\u200b range anchors the space along side \u200bKOHLER\u2019s \u200bPoise Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink, beautiful \u200bDekton by Cosentino\u200b countertops, a wine cellar, and a large island that blends style with function. The light blue custom millwork and \u200bFabricut\u200b wallcoverings add dimension to the kitchen, while artwork depicting birds and coral pays homage to the home\u2019s South Florida location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Floating just above the Great Room, the space surrounds visitors with a gentle evocation of the senses. The room fuses Japanese furnishings with modern decorative elements. The color palette is a soothing high-gloss \u201cSymphony Blue\u201d by \u200bBenjamin Moore\u200b balanced with subtle blues, greens. And accented by silver in the Gracie \u201cKoi Pond\u201d wallcovering stretching across the ceiling. A meditation bed sits at the center, calling visitors to ease the tension of public daily life with peaceful reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
