As everyone knows the world is facing a pandemic due to coronavirus (COVID-19). Kids are out of school; companies are closing with employees working from home; public spaces like stores, museums, and restaurants are also closing, all in the hopes of preventing the spread of the virus. People are living in lockdown, and we know how hard it is to find things to do at home during the coronavirus quarantine. So read on for some ideas on how to keep calm and carry on at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things to Do at Home During the Coronavirus Quarantine<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are home alone…<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of things to do at home during the coronavirus quarantine, even if you’re alone. All of the stuff you said you don’t have time to do, do it now! Take this time to learn how to cook (or to improve) and exercise your mind and body with tutorial online videos. It is really important to stay healthy during this time. Call someone who you haven’t talked to for months and do FaceTime and online games with your family. Clean up your closet and donate clothes you didn’t use in the last 5 years. Make your bathroom your own spa. Redecorate your home. Try to find some inspirations on Pinterest and print your favorite quotes or projects to put on your walls. Take time to read that book that has been one your nightstand for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have children…<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most important thing: try to explain the situation to your kids in a kind and conscious way. Explain to them that they should wash their hands, use a tissue for coughs and sneezes and avoid touching their face. Even if they’re not in school, keep their daily routine active with the same schedules for bed and wake up time. If they aren’t old enough to have a phone, use your own to call their friend’s trough video call. Take this time to enjoy some board games with your children. Preoccupy their minds with some good riddles for kids<\/a>. Tell them stories about you and your childhood. Encourage them to keep studying and help them with their homework. Emphasize to your kids the importance of reading. Being home all day is a great chance to do that. If you have a private garden, let them explore nature for a while. Use this opportunity also to create a vegetable garden – they will love the experience of planting something and watching it grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a Museum Lover…<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, Netflix and browsing on the internet can be boring, especially when you have been doing that all day long. However, there’s a way to get culture and education while you’re sitting on your couch. Now, 500 museums and galleries around the world are offering virtual tours and online exhibitions. Here are our top museum picks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The British Museum<\/a>, in London, who offers visitors tours of the Great Court and the ancient Rosetta Stone and Egyptian mummies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guggenheim Museum<\/a>, New York through Google Steet View, where you can see the famous spiral staircase and discover incredible works of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. – Here you are lucky to see two online exhibitions<\/a>: one of American fashion from 1740 to 1895 and the other a collection of works from painter Johannes Vermeer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay, Paris<\/a> is one of our favorite Museums in Paris. In this virtual tour you can see dozens of famous works by French artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art<\/a>, Seoul, where you have six floors of contemporary art from Korea and the world, to be entertained by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pergamon Museum<\/a> is one of the largest museums in Berlin, where you can virtually enjoy tons of ancient artifacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Gogh Museum<\/a>, Amsterdam. If you have never had the chance to visit here to see the artwork of Vincent van Gogh, now is the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And last, be not least the Uffizi Gallery<\/a> in Florence – an amazing collection of Italian art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have dogs…<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now is the perfect time to spend more time with your best friend, and teach them some cool tricks. You can also take advantage of this time to take care of his fur, brushing it and even give him a long bath. If you’re lucky to have a garden, you can also take advantage of some sun with him, playing. Try hiding food or toys to entertain him. Don’t forget to also take little walks with your dog<\/a>, for his health, but also for yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most importantly, don’t panic! Wash your hands and avoid leaving your home (only for necessary goods like supermarket or pharmacy). Only pay attention to trusted sources and ignore the ones that think they are specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
