Upon graduating from architecture school, Hilda Mohseni sought out to master her trade in Europe, studying architecture in Greece and Italy, then on to ultra-modern design in France. Subsequently, ready to go out on her own, Hilda established ONE X ONE DESIGN in 1990 with the philosophy that free-thinking professionals create the most impressive products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After years of working closely with homeowners, custom home and commercial developers, and international architects, Hilda, alongside her partner and sister Avida, evolved ONE X ONE DESIGN into a full-service design and build firm. Today, the duo work diligently to provide exceptional design, construction, and customer service to their vast list of clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your idea of perfect happiness?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Surrounded by my family on a sunny Sunday for brunch at my parent\u2019s family home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you consider your greatest achievement?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Starting ONE X ONE DESIGN many years ago and growing the company with my sister as my partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What profession does your alter ego have?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Owning and operating a wellness spa resort. I have always been very interested in owning a beautifully designed wellness resort and spa. A place by a lake somewhere in the middle of the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project you will never forget.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We had this amazing opportunity to design and build numerous super luxury vacation properties at a newly developed Yacht Club called Friday Harbour Resort in Ontario, Canada. Although it was a very technically challenging project, our team and I worked like a well-oiled machine and had the best time. This is where I truly realized that when a team of designers and vendors are inspired and work towards the same goal with NO EGO, magic happens, and it reflects through the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your favorite business tool or resource.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I would have to say that first and foremost our hard-working and dedicated team and then it is Pinterest. I find myself always looking through various boards for inspiration and information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most timeless design.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In my opinion, the most timeless design is a neutral space. It adheres to form and function and is designed with the needs of the client in mind. Once the foundation of space is cohesive, then accessories can be used to transform it from one look to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest design faux pas.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

There are many but naming just a few, I would say disproportionate furniture, inadequate lighting, and too many matching pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your design motto.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When a project hands you lemons, make lemon cake!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you were to design a room around one KOKET piece, which would it be, and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I love the SPELLBOUND Cabinet. A beautiful sideboard I find is a great source of inspiration and the SPELLBOUND Cabinet is and an extraordinary piece that would inspire an entire design direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When one\u2019s heart and mind are aligned, and you trust and believe in what you do. Then the magic reflects in the work you do and people sense it in the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
