What is your idea of perfect happiness?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

My perfect happiness is spending time with my partner, friends, family, and dogs sailing in the Mediterranean or my house in the country. Alternatively, sitting in a beautiful Italian square such as Piazza Duomo in Syracuse, with a glass of wine watching the world go by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you consider your greatest achievement?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Creating and building Studio Indigo from the ground up has been one of my greatest achievements. When I started it, I always thought it would be a small boutique practice of 5 and now it\u2019s a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary practice of 40 people plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What profession does your alter ego have?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Although I\u2019ve always wanted to design since I was a little boy, I think my alter ego would be a General Manager of a 5-star hotel somewhere fabulous. I love the idea of being responsible of delivering good service and making people feel happy and comfortable, which is pretty similar to my day-to-day role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project you will never forget.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Probably the most challenging project that I can mention is one of my own personal houses. Constructed behind a retained arts and craft fa\u00e7ade, the dwelling had many challenges including planning, construction, and design. Planning is always a challenge more so in Kensington as the site was surrounded by listed buildings. It was sandwiched between two narrow roads and rebuilding the house was a logistical challenge involving road closures, parking suspensions, cranes and at one-point helicopters to lower in a 4-ton sliding roof. As the house had no outdoor garden space, a new \u2018winter garden\u2019 was created on the top house with a retractable roof and enormous \u2018gull wing windows\u2019 that allowed the outside in and reinforced the connection between the garden square and house. The building showcased Studio Indigo\u2019s design skills and inventiveness in turning a challenge into something unique and distinctive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
