\u201cFor us, books are a matter of intellect and emotion, of heritage and innovation. Because information is not only about today, and the past is a sensational source of inspiration,\u201d says Assouline.com. And of course, photography is a crucial element, along with a personal one! For it was pivotal in the founding of Assouline as Prosper\u2019s own photographs combined with his wife\u2019s words sparked its commencement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the desire to capture the beauty of one of their favorite hotels in France, La Colombe d\u2019Or, Prosper and Martine created a mockup to show their friends who owned it. Upon seeing the beauty and essence of the hotel so wonderfully preserved through Prosper\u2019s photographs and Martine\u2019s words, the owners granted Martine and Prosper permission to publish the book that would be their gateway to becoming the epitome of luxury book publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
