This is perfect quick trip outside of the design show where you can escape into a world of exotic fantasy &amp; luxury.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6706 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/the-ritz-carlton-millenia-singapore.jpg\" alt=\"Exotic destinations: Singapore, my radiant orchid\" width=\"680\" height=\"303\" \/><br \/>\nWe stayed at the\u00a0Ritz-Carlton\u00a0which is no ordinary hotel. The massive three-ton Frank Stella installation at the entrance and the pair of Dale Chihuly crystal glass sculptures that anchor both wings of the building kick off one of Southeast Asia&#8217;s finest (and under the radar) collections of modern and contemporary art.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/The-Ritz-Carlton-in-Millenia-Singapore-loby.jpg\" alt=\"Exotic destinations: Singapore, my radiant orchid\" width=\"700\" height=\"298\" \/><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/ritz-carlton-hotel-singapore.jpg\" alt=\"Exotic destinations: Singapore, my radiant orchid\" width=\"700\" height=\"865\" \/><br \/>\nThe majority of the pieces were specially commissioned for the public spaces and guest suites. The treasures on view include Andy Warhol and David Hockney&#8217;s exuberant colors, Rainer Gross&#8217;s geometric compositions, Henry Moore&#8217;s restrained monochromatics and the lush botanicals of Robert Zakanitch. It&#8217;s all free to view, and you even get an iPod-guided tour.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6707\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bykoket.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Shopping-on-Orchard-Road1.jpg\" alt=\"Shopping on Orchard Road1\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><br \/>\nAs all a professional shopper\u2019s I gravitated first towards the famed retail stretch of Orchard Road.
