In this edition of Love Happens\u2019<\/em> Design Questionnaire<\/a>, join us for a peek into the creative mind of Brad Ramsey, founder of the Nashville-based interior design firm Brad Ramsey Interiors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Georgia, Brad first started following his passion for songwriting. But when he moved to Nashville, he fell in love with interior design, where he began his career in 2008. His design aesthetic always invokes his sharp sense of style, eye for beauty, and ability to create meaningful spaces that uniquely reflect those who inhabit them. Brad’s work is instinctual, from concept to completion, and driven by the pursuit of integrity, balance, and quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offering a full range of tailored interior design services, Brad and his team work tirelessly to bring their thoughtful designs to fruition. By working collectively with architects, builders, contractors, and creatives, Brad can steer the design process to capture each client’s unique personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your idea of perfect happiness?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I don’t think perfect happiness exists, so I choose to find happiness in all of the small moments in life. Living in an awareness of the beauty, joy, and inspiration all around us is my definition of happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you consider your greatest achievement?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Launching my business has been my greatest achievement for sure. I look back at how nervous I was leaving the design firm I was working at to go out on my own. I have grown from having a business in my basement where I was the designer, accountant, and delivery man to building a studio with amazing employees and companies that handle the logistics. After nine years, I am still always learning how to do things better and more efficiently. But I am so proud of the journey so far!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What profession does your alter ego have?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Singer-songwriter! I actually went to school in Nashville for music and got my undergrad in music performance.  At one point in life, all my dreams revolved around making it in the music business. They have obviously morphed since then, but my alter ego still sits down at the piano every once in a while to sing and write down lyrics that have been rolling around in my head and heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project you will never forget.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The project that I will never forget is a lake house we designed for a client who tragically lost one of their children during the design\/build process. Walking the client through making selections to just trusting me to intuit their choices so they could focus on grieving was one of the most difficult and beautiful journeys I have ever traveled with a client. The house has become a place of peace and retreat for them, and I am honored that I was able to give them that gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your favorite business tool or resource.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The best business tool I have ever found is connecting and bouncing ideas off my fellow designers. We all do things slightly differently, but we all understand the challenges of the industry. I love it when we can trade ideas and tricks to be better at what we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most timeless design.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I think a well-curated and collected home is a true reflection of timeless design. Being able to combine different design styles with art and pieces collected over time helps to tell the story of the homeowner. Whether the base aesthetic is modern with clean lines or traditional with more patterns and details, the design should have layers and collected pieces to give it life and character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest design faux pas.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I am not a fan of thematic design. When every room is a different color and different feel. I think a home should have a baseline aesthetic that runs throughout and unifies the energy. Of course, adding character and variation is a fun part of the design process.  But I prefer a tasteful subtlety to that process.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your design motto.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I don’t have a design motto. I just work hard to make sure everything we do in my office is done with transparency and integrity. Everything else we do must be built on that foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our publisher KOKET makes statement d\u00e9cor; if you were to design a room around one KOKET piece, which would it be, and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Oooo…give me the Paris Oval Dining Table. My mind is already swirling with tasty ideas!<\/p>\n\n\n
