It is no coincidence Janet Morais, the founder of Love Happens Mag<\/em> and our publisher, the luxury home decor brand KOKET<\/a> chose to embrace herself in the magnificent couture cape by Rami Al Ali<\/a> on the cover of our “Embracing Individuality & Authenticity” edition. Pink being her other black, feathers evoking her free spirit, and the grandeur of it all summing up her mind and life. In her Publisher’s Note for the print edition, Janet divulged:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate one\u2019s individuality takes courage, but once you give your authentic self to the world, the feeling of liberation fills your body with a profound sense of calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am comfortable taking risks, pushing boundaries, and relentlessly seeking success in all I do and come across. So why haven\u2019t I been at ease embracing who I am and celebrating Janet la Koket, unapologetically?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was I afraid of judgment? Was I looking for permission? Could it have been my love of privacy that led me to keep my circle small and moments private? None of the above. It wasn\u2019t the right moment in time. Life, age, and experiences have led me to step back and look at the Janet behind the opulent cape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s start with the name Janet la KOKET; this playful name was given to me when I was young for my flirtatious ways and abundant personality. Anyone who knows me knows I walk the talk\u2014and always in a killer shoe. I am inspired by the beauty and sensuality of women around the globe. I am attracted to daring design combined with exquisite hand craftsmanship. It is my personal mission to share my joie de vivre and coquettish frill while empowering others to follow my lead to design their lives and create a sense of individual style for themselves, their home, and their lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n

When I set out to create my own brand, I immersed myself entirely in the lifestyle, needs, and desires of my audience while celebrating my passion for people and design. Past love stories, betrayals, and feelings set the brand’s tone, while experiences and lessons learned predict its future. People who have touched my life and emotions name my pieces, while key places appear between the lines of product descriptions. KOKET\u2019s style is daring, high impact, lavish, and slightly risqu\u00e9 while also classically sophisticated and elegant. The brand gives you a pretty close reflection of who I am, but it is with this edition that I embrace it all for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
