The Most Romantic Restaurants for Valentines Day
With Valentine’s Day only a day away, now seems as good a time as any to throw it out for discussion. What makes a restaurant romantic? Do we have higher expectations on restaurants in Valentines Day? So, let’s see which are the most romantic restaurants for Valentines Day.
Those who think of this day as the most romantic of them all, have pre-set high expectations for the entire day, while those who live their love affair daily are just looking to create a new memory in their love story. While food is important, intimacy in design and setting is at the top of my list, followed by details such as lighting, noise level, service, table linens, flowers and scent.
Couples today are in search of memorable experiences, and long term memories, and I have listed my top three recommendations of places where I have created lasting memories, which are all mine to keep.
1- One If by Land, Two If by Sea, New York
This intimate West Village restaurant, is located in a landmarked carriage house that once belonged to Aaron Burr. Warm hues brings warmth to the space while the classic French chairs add charm to the dinning room. The intimate atmosphere is enhanced by chef Gary Volkov’s classic menu, which includes romance-inspiring plates such as oysters, beef Wellington, and chocolate soufflé.

Every simple corner in Bali was romantic, but Metis took my idea of paradise to another level. The design resembeled traditional Indonesian batiks. Chef Nicolas “Doudou” Tourneville serves French Mediterranean cuisine, including an entire menu dedicated to foie gras.

3-Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse, Paris
I had the honor of lunching with my husband this past January while at the Maison & Objet show in Paris at one of the crown jewels in the chef’s dining empire, Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse which boasts three Michelin stars and a decadent atmosphere. It is took my breath away. The splendor, the exuberance, the service, the atmosphere all enlightened my senses to a new level. The simple yet exquisite cuisine includes dishes such as lobster with Jerusalem artichokes and venison with poivrade sauce.
