Top Looks from Miami Swim Week 2017: Swimsuit Fashion Trends for 2018

As always summer feels like it is flying by way too fast, but we still have plenty of time left for fun in the sun as we enter summer’s top vacation month, August! So keep rocking your swimsuits and check out KOKET’s favorite swimwear looks from Miami Swim Week 2017 which just wrapped up yesterday. Miami Swim Week is a marathon of fashion events focused on swimsuits and resort wear that takes place in Miami Beach every July. The 2018 swimsuit fashion trends were revealed over the past 5 days as thousands of designers, manufacturers, buyers, stylists, models, celebrities, press and fashion lovers took over Miami to attend catwalk shows, product launches, designer presentations and lavish parties. Here are the looks we loved and a few fashion trends we spotted!

2018 Swimwear Fashion Trend to Note: A versatile swimsuit is the way to go! Wear it in the sea (not sure how the fur would hold up in reality, imaging a wet dog look, ekkk! – maybe just wear it to the beach?!), then throw on a skirt or a pair of wide leg pants and on to the shore you go for an evening on the town.

Beach Bunny’s flawless models also strutted their stuff in some gorgeous designs that were sans-fur like this stunning strappy bikini with metal bling rings.

2018 Swimwear Fashion Trend to Note: Straps, straps, straps!
 
Acacia Swimwear debuted some exotic new pieces in swim along with some beautiful ready-to-wear pieces. Known for mixing femininity with sophistication, we loved their animal prints and elegant yet sexy strappy one-pieces.


 
The ultra-feminine and fun swimwear line Lolli Swim introduced their Resort 2018 collection during Miami Swim Week. The playful collection is “inspired by classic California beach babes, golden tans, cotton candy skies and the sweet taste of summer.” In the spirit of the collections whimsical style Lolli offered the first 200 guests at her show glitter cotton candy through a partnership with the viral art installation, Museum of Ice Cream.
Hand-embroidered vintage floral accents added texture and detail to many pieces in the collection such as this off the shoulder bohemian ruffled bikini below.

Paying homage to her Cuban roots, Luli Fama’s collection and Miami Swim Week show featured colorful “Bohemian” prints and sub-collections with names like “Me Voy pa Cuba” presented alongside dancing men and rhythmic drums.

One of the most anticipated shows at Miami Swim Week 2017 was Hot-As-Hell and it didn’t disappoint! An eccentric array of diverse models and a large group of children danced and jumped around the catwalk wearing a collection influenced by Asian prints and flowers.
