Glowing Vienna Restaurant Design by Gatserelia

Glowing Vienna Restaurant Design by Gatserelia

Vienna’s urban dining scene just got a lot more stylish. The stunning new restaurant design of Ai Restaurant by Gregory Gatserelia of Gatserelia Design has more than just style inside- the innovative Asian restaurant is known for its modern Japanese food. The opulent environment matches the exquisite food, where you can dine on Nigiri and Salmon Rolls under a glowing ceiling accented with copper.

The combination of the modern and sleek interiors looking out onto the historical Golden Quarter of Vienna provides for an exciting juxtaposition of old and new. The Golden Quarter is a luxurious area of Vienna, hosting many high-end International brands and accommodations. Set over two floors, the restaurant includes a robata grill, sushi bar and a cocktail lounge.

The name of the restaurant – Ai – is Japanese for love. A simple yet suitable name for a restaurant that has obviously been a labor of love by many people. The designer, Gregory Gasterelia, founded Gatserelia Design with his brother Alexander in 1985. The Beirut-based company has continued to expand and flourish in the years since, and Gregory himself has been recognized by Architectural Digest as one of the top-rated AD100 interior designers four years in a row.

The most glamorous and eye-catching features of the design are the powerful lines and shapes of shining copper placed above the bar. The use of metallics combined with the soft blue upholstered bar stools creates a perfect environment for grabbing a drink. You will definitely feel stylish sipping on unique and delicious cocktails here!
