Inside ZERO9 with Prashant Chauhan

An architect by qualification, Prashant Chauhan scales beyond the boundaries of architecture and serves as a fabulously talented multifaceted designer. Prashant’s belief ‘Design is Boundless’ forms the very core of his practice ZERO9.
Prashant enjoys sharing his thoughts with aspiring architects at his alma mater Rizvi College of Architecture. He also has a passion for travel, photography, and technology.
His curiosity towards scriptures and spirituality are largely responsible for his minimal and clutter-free approach to design. And his restless energy makes him push boundaries, accept challenges, and live up to his mantra ‘Celebrate Life’.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness is witnessing the miracle of nature on day to day basis, be it right from budding of a new leaf, to rising of sun to a birds flight, the nature has this abundant joy which we miss out on enjoying.
What is your greatest extravagance?
The Midas Touch, as a project was one of my greatest extravagances. The most favourite of all is the Ostrich Feather Lamp procured from UK.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement still remains my first apartment that I bought on my own at the age of 26. Many Milestones later, that one particularly is etched in my heart.
What profession does your alter ego have?
My alter ego is a photographer by profession. But is always curious about exploring various new dimensions.

The project you will never forget.
Weekend Home at Daman. This is a project where we convinced the clients to keep the existing trees and build around them. The project won several national and international awards.

Your favorite business tool or resource.
Compass. I think it helps me orient myself and conclude a lot of my design decisions.
The most timeless design.
Same as ‘the project I will never forget’, Weekend Home at Daman.
