The inspiration for this season’s campaign, GucciPrêtÀPorter, features a story that compasses four decades. Women from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s are wearing different daring, statement pieces. The black and white images replicate ads from these time periods. This adds authenticity to the artwork. The determined expressions on the women’s faces and their strong stances scream fearless and confident.

Female Empowerment

The clothing is typical of Gucci standard, bold and show-stopping. The women wear clothing applicable for both men and women, expressing a strong message of the rise in female occupation during these decades. Although these are “vintage” decades, the fight for female empowerment and equal rights is still on the rise, making an even greater impact with these murals. Through its campaign and art walls, Gucci sends not only a campaign but a message of female empowerment and strength on these fast-paced, crowded city streets, for lots of people to see.
