Couture Fashion Week 2020 Looks to Love
For the most passionate fashion lovers around the globe, Paris’s biannual Haute Couture Fashion Week in January and July are the most important dates on the fashion calendar. It is here each year that a curated selection of the most talented fashion houses showcase their newest creations. Historically Haute Couture fashion has been not only about unmatched craftsmanship, but also a form of wearable art. The 2020 edition of Couture Fashion Week just wrapped up so here are some of our favorite looks along with some key fashion trends to note!
Looks We Love from Haute Couture Fashion Week 2020
Sometimes, regardless of its beauty, haute couture is so over the top it’s hard to imagine anywhere it could actually be worn. However, during Haute Couture Week Spring/Summer 2020 the trend toward including looks that could be worn in everyday life continued to appear. Well, some people’s everyday life that is! The haute couture industry only has around 4000 clients worldwide. Why such a small number? The exorbitant cost and extensive custom fabrication process of true haute couture put it in a class of its own. So, while some looks may be slightly more subtle, the average fashion lover will still look upon haute couture as fashion art to be admired.

Fashion Trends to Note From Couture Fashion Week 2020
Despite a slight shift away from over-the-topness, haute couture still remains a true form of art presented as fashion. And as many art forms do, haute couture fashion often looks to the past. During Haute Couture Week 2020 Spring/Summer many designers made historical references in their designs. From numerous versions of Tudor ruff necks and pilgrim inspired shoes to 1970s patchwork and 80s flare, many designers took inspiration from fashions of the past. Can’t say we loved all these choices, but the interest was there for sure! However, this was not true for all houses. Some took the complete opposite approach and focused on pure futuristic innovation in both materials and forms.
Other trends from the fashion elite consisted of statement jewelry, bright solid silks, cotton lace, and evening stoles. As well, pleats, fringes, feathers, and other frills made their way across the runways.
