Pucci began designing clothes for the Reed College skiing team due to his peculiar taste for water sports. Quickly, his work fell into the eyes of many American manufacturers that wanted to produce them. Motivated by this, Pucci decided to open up the haute couture house and produced a swimwear line in 1949, and moved on to bright and bold patterned silk scarves. Many seductive bodies of famous models were served as a “showcase” for the unique and incomparable Pucci’s second passion, the dresses. Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy are some of the divas that experienced his unique genius.
