Design Lover’s Guide to Miami Design District

The Miami Design District is one of the most diverse design districts in the world, displaying everything from alluring traditional architecture to modern Miami street art. In constant expansion and evolution, the Miami Design District is in full bloom this week as Miami Art Week (Dec. 3rd – 9th) takes over giving everyone a perfect excuse to explore new additions to this contemporary neighborhood. This week the Miami Design District shows an extra layer of the best of art and craftsmanship with exhibits featuring Louis Vuitton leather as well as it’s permanent stunning contemporary art museums. Be sure to check out the best of other arts too such as the art of cuisine at Estefan Kitchen and the art of cocktail making at The Mayhaw.

The Mayhaw is a spirit bar that recreates drinks dating all the way back to the prohibition of alcohol and places its own bit of identity in the new and popular drinks of today. It also has a 55-label wine list specialized in Rose and Bubbles. A must after a long day of viewing art!

Extending his success with classic Cuban music into the culinary world, Estefan Kitchen is renowned for having the best Cuban cuisine and music in Miami and for genuinely bringing a piece of Cuba to the famous Miami Beach.
Head to Estefan’s Friday, Dec. 7th for happy hour and stay for this season’s Palm Court Performance Series featuring Emily Estefan (daughter of Emilio and Gloria Estefan). Her smooth vocals and jazzy/R&B arrangements are a must see!

A must see at Design Miami/ 2018:
Fendi Marks 10 Years of Design Miami/ and Peekaboo
This year during Miami Art Week Fendi is celebrating two 10-year milestones: their participation in Design Miami/, and the anniversary of its Peekaboo bag. During the fair, Fendi will present “The Shapes of Water” by Sabine Marcelis, a project dedicated to rediscovering one of the elements the luxury brand cherishes most: water. Marcelis has created ten cast resin fountains inspired by iconic symbols of craftsmanship and the brand’s logo. The artist has also designed a podium for Fendi, which will hold the special 10th-anniversary Peekaboo bag designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi. The bag will be for sale in a limited edition throughout the week.

Admire Art, Museum Style
