Bergdorf Goodman Windows: “Bergdorf Goodies”, The 2018 Holiday Windows

Each year the Bergdorf Goodman windows make magic for passersby on 5th Avenue in New York City! Continuing the tradition of ‘fantastical storytelling’ the 2018 holiday windows are all about sweets!
According to David Hoey, Bergdorf Goodman Windows Director, “half the fun is coming up with the theme.” This year’s lavish, over-the-top candy land dreams, titled “Bergdorf Goodies” are truly masterful!

Every window is a completely unique work of art. “Each one a maxed out fantasy on a different kind of holiday treat,” explains Hoey. From candy, pastries, cake, and Christmas treats to bonbons, ice cream and beyond, “Bergdorf Goodies” captures an array of exquisite holiday treats!
While each window appears deliciously real, there are hardly any real materials in the Bergdorf Goodman windows, instead, each piece is created by artists using faux finishes. These masterpieces are created by the BG windows team and their many artisan collaborators in the New York City area whose amazing talents are the secrets behind the windows.

From design, development, production, and installation the visual team, including the artistic collaborators, spend about 10 months working on the window displays. The end result – surprising, delightful, fantastical, showstopping art!
