Laurent Maugoust at Hotel Bowmann Paris

In the heart of Baron Haussmann’s Paris, just steps from the enchanting Parc Monceau resides the new Hotel Bowmann. A stunning five-star property designed by Laurent Maugoust, a master of high-end decor.

Laurent Maugoust
The Paris-based interior designer, Laurent Maugoust has created a plethora of beautiful spaces around the world. His designs showcase his talent for magnificent attention to detail, both aesthetical and technical. And his portfolio is a clear representation of his attraction to historical spaces, or spaces with heavily marked style. Oppositions and contrasts inspire him, in particular, the dialogue between different eras as seen in Hotel Bowmann where the timeless, almost fundamental, style of Louis XVI meets the innovative and visionary twentieth-century.

The Hotel Bowmann Design
Hotel Bowmann sits behind a Haussmanian facade structured and designed by Laurent Maugoust as a unique home—with the cooperation of architect DPLG, Olivier Billotte.

Although the parquet floors, carved woodwork, decorative cornices, and stucco ornaments evoke a sense of the past, Laurent Maugoust did not wish to date the hotel. His goal, which he beautifully conceived, was to preserve a spirit of timeless elegance. Leaving trends completely out of the equation.

Old materials meld with contemporary elements: sculptural marbles, textured materials, one-way mirrors, unstructured gilded bronze lights like the Origami chandelier designed by Laurent Maugoust for the bar and restaurant. Not to mention, the iconic pieces of furniture, from Warren Platner’s armchairs and Andree Putman’s Crescent Moon sofa to Jean-Michel Frank’s Croisillon lamp.

Colors harmonize across the space. Sage ivory, powder pink gray, deep green, sulfurous wine red, tenebrous royal blue, and immaculate white flow throughout the hotel’s 53 rooms and suites. From the walls and woodwork to the fabrics each color enhances the pure Parisian style of the Hotel Bowmann.

Mirrors make a very strong statement throughout the hotel. Laurent Maugoust considered the mirrors to be decorative, architectural and functional elements simultaneously. He dressed the suites’ bath cubicles with mirrors that prolong perspectives through the beauty of trompe-l’oeil.

The Bowmann Suite

The view from the panoramic terrace of the Bowmann Suite is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking in Paris. An area of 100m² with its own private jacuzzi; this suite will soon become one of Paris’ most prestigious places!
Exception Furnishings Galore

The Hotel Bowmann’s interior design is filled with savoir-faire and renowned decor houses: furniture made to measure by Ecart International, Les Héritiers and Roche-Bobois, Toulemonde Bochart carpet, Charles lamps, Knoll branded design pieces, Dedar, Lelièvre and Rubelli fabrics, Houlès trimmings, Ressource and Farrow & Ball paintings, Dornbracht faucets, and electrical equipment from Meljac. A real “dream team” that reinforces the timelessness of the place and the well-being felt there.

For Laurent Maugoust, comfort is a necessity, and thus comfort is at the essence of his Hotel Bowmann design!
