Autumn can be many things. It’s not only when children return to school but also a time where the cultural calendar calls for adults. This season also means that is time to enjoy some good events, both in design, architecture, and art. And the time is arriving, so if you love these topics, we’ve gathered our 5 best destinations to visit in October.

The dynamic of Mexico City brings architecture and design fans all year, but October is an especially exciting time to visit because of Design Week Mexico. This event presenting fairs, exhibitions, and forums about design takes place each year. From October 3rd to 27th, this city will receive events by the team that earned the title “World Design Capital” last year.
New York is perfect to visit any time, but if you love design and architecture, October is THE time to visit the city that never sleeps. Archtober is New York City’s Architecture and Design Month, a festival with lots of activities, programs, and exhibitions about architecture and design. Furthermore, you’ll have the opportunity to see also the Open House New York, from October 18th until 20th. This Open House provides access to NY’s extraordinary architecture and to the people who help design, build and preserve the city.
Istanbul is the most populated city in Turkey and it has magnificent monuments! This year the 16th Istanbul Biennal will take place with many exhibitions and events to attend. The event is set in a former warehouse that is being transformed into a museum to open next year. And don’t forget to visit Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque!
Eindhoven, Netherlands has one of Europe’s most important design schools! And it’s the home each year of Dutch Design Week – the biggest design event in Northern Europe. It presents the work and ideas of more than 2,600 designers! The event is in more than 110 locations and organizes exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities.
Cincinnati, Ohio is a beautiful city, cheerful and animated. With its 19th century downtown architecture, elegant skyscrapers, and superb museums, Cincinnatti is as classy as they come. And it’s home to the Blink Festival – one of the largest light, art, and projection mapping events in the nation! The event will return on October 10th until the 13th, spanning more than 30 city blocks and crossing the historic John A. Roebling suspension bridge over the Ohio River.
